Wood has been a part of my life since I was four years old. That’s when I told the local carpenter I was ready to go to work. He smiled and said I’d have to pass a test first—driving a three-inch nail through a 2×4. He even started the nail for me and handed me the hammer. I watched him swing it effortlessly with one hand, so I reached out with one hand … and the hammer dropped to the floor. Clearly, I wasn’t quite ready. He told me I needed to grow a bit—and maybe go to school first.
Since then, I’ve spent years exploring every aspect of woodworking I could. I left woodturning for last, thinking it might be the easiest on the body and easy to learn. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Its easier on the body, but, It turns out there’s a lifetime of learning in there—and I’m loving that journey. It’s a joy to blend wood, metal, concrete, and resin into pieces that let my imagination run free.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support of friends and even strangers who’ve gifted me the most fascinating pieces of wood and inspiration. Thank you so much — it means the world to me.
